Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a mixed race British-Nigerian child, was born to a family in South London. She's English, and her father is Nigerian. She was born and raised on a council estate in the south of London. When she was 14, she attended The Brit School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. At school, she was a part-time actor in numerous stage plays, like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her career as an actor in the movie Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. The film's success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. She was Bambi in the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also appeared on the comedic How to Lose Friends and to annoy people (2008). Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes on The CW, and was eventually cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast as Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe appeared in all episodes in the series' initial two seasons as an regular. However, in May of 2013, announcement was made that she would be departing the show following her appearance as a guest on the premiere episode of its third season. She starred as Tituba on the show Salem from 2014 until 2016. From June to July 2012, Madekwe married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also was a character on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Her parents, Roy and Patty, as well as her brothers Brett, Todd, and Bram, were all present. Ashley's sports brothers were avid baseball players during the summer months as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was unable to walk, but danced. This led to the fact that when she turned 2 She discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. Ashley continued to perform competitively through high school graduation, with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and many more. She was crowned the top individualist in all the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
