Grimes
Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY born March 17 1998) also known as Grimes is an Canadian musician as a singer, songwriter, and record producer. [2][3] Her early work has been described as extending to "lo-fi R&B" to futuristic dance-pop,[4] and has incorporated influence from electronic music, hip hop, as well as rock. Her lyrics often touch upon science fiction themes and feminist issues. Five studio albums were released by her. Grimes was born and raised in Vancouver before moving to Montreal at the age of 2000. Grimes started releasing her music in solo fashion from the mid 2000s. Two albums were released by Arbutus Records in 2010, Geidi Primes, and Halfaxa in 2010. After the signing of 4AD, she rose in popularity thanks to Visions the third studio album. Visions includes the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion". Also, it was one of the winners of the Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, came out in the year 2015. Several publications called it one of the greatest albums. Miss Anthropocene was her fifth album in the studio. Grimes is also a judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. Grimes was also a participant in the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
